LETTER FROM THE Publisher
Cleveland welcomed the world of Major League Baseball to our city recently, for the sixth time, to host
the 2019 All-Star Game. e activities, be- fore and a er the event, on and o the eld of play, were exciting and memorable. Our magazine was fortunate to be invited to the Major League All-Star VIP Luncheon/ Party on Monday, the day before the game. e invitation to attend was extended by the law rm of Ciano & Goldwasser LLP. Named partners Phil Ciano and Andy Goldwasser organized this luncheon with many players, owners, sports agents, law-
yers and judges being invited. e next issue of this magazine will carry an “Event Spotlight” section where we will share some of the photos taken at the luncheon.
I had discussed with Phil Ciano about being our Attorney of the Month for some time, and as good fortune would have it, this is the month chosen for his feature story. I believe you will nd his feature story a most interesting read.
Our contributing editors continue to o er excellent and timely ar- ticles that are informative, and in some instances, may assist you in your decision or approach in taking a case. Kathleen Fish, with Robert Brown Immigration Law, discusses sponsor requirements and responsi- bilities for permanent residency. Shmuel Kleinman, a 2L law clerk with Dworken & Bernstein, weighs in on the topic of varying representations not defeating Rule 23 predominance for claims premised on standard form documents in class actions. Our resident digital forensics and cy- bersecurity expert, Michael Zinn, shares with us his trends in attorney forensic requests the rst half of this year. Marc Dann, in his “Opinion Article,” expresses his personal and professional concerns with the laws in Ohio dealing with rape and child sexual abuse.
e University Hospitals Fertility Clinic Case has been in and out of the news since March 2018. I asked Professor Browne Lewis, the Leon M. and Gloria Plevin Professor of Law at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, to write an article that explores this tragic occurrence. Many thanks to you Professor Lewis for sharing your knowledge with us.
In this issue, our Attorney Spotlight is shone on Michael Liner of Liner Legal. His two-page pro le is contained herein, and he reports the rm he has created is “game-changing.”
anks for spending some time with our magazine and don’t forget to visit our website, where we are able to present more content than we have room for in this print publication.
Enjoy and prosper,
