“Welcome to Attorney at Law Magazine South Florida’s Women in Law special issue, featuring these great powerhouse lawyers who help make and shape our legal community.”
Welcome to Attorney at Law Magazine South Florida’s Women in Law 2018 special issue, featuring these great powerhouse lawyers who help make and shape our legal community. Please join us when reading about our women lawyers as we walk through the history of their ca- reers and lives.
My favorite quote from this issue is from Michelle Suskauer our Woman Lawyer of the Year. When asked why she became a lawyer, she said it’s all about Tikkun Olan – performing acts of kindness to repair the world.
Our featured lawyers not only perform acts of kindness to repair the world, they help to change the laws in our state and take active parts in helping our community through charity bene ts, pro bono work, and support through our local chapters of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and our state and local bars.
One of our attorneys in this issue – Ju- lianne Frank donates time at Loggerhead marine wildlife center by working as an educational docent giving virtual tours to classrooms around the country about sea turtles. Another amazing attorney Connie Peña tells us about the case that most de- ned her practice – representing a young girl who was the victim of domestic vio- lence, but then arrested as the aggressor.
Each of these women have their own unique story to tell. I want to thank them all for sharing it with our readers. I look forward to seeing them spread good will, fairness and justice throughout our great community, our government and our country. May God bless America.
Hasta la vista, te deseo lo major, Until next time. All the best,
Rhenne Leon Publisher
