LETTER FROM THE Publisher
Inthis issue of our magazine, Gary Shulman is our Attorney of the Month. He is the founder of QDRO Compliance Services and author of numerous publications in the eld of pension bene ts. He admits to hav- ing a passion for exotic cars, is an avid racquetball player and for twenty years he raised and showed Paint and Quarter Horses. I think you will nd his feature story a most interesting and informative
read.
In remembrance of Veterans Day, we
have dedicated a section of this publica- tion to our 2018 Veterans in Law. ese are lawyers who served, and in some cases continue to serve, in a branch of the military and prac- tice law as well. I trust you will nd their individual pro les a true testament of their character and resolve to do what is necessary to
accomplish personal goals and reach career objectives.
A very special thank you to Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon Kennedy for writing an article for this magazine in support of the military. Justice Kennedy was very kind to set aside the time to com- pose her article when I informed her of my plans for this special sec-
tion in honor of our heroes.
Our Contributing Editors continue with their excellent articles on
a variety of topics. Aleksandar Cuic with Robert Brown Immigration writes on current events concerning our nation’s immigration sys- tem. Shelly Fleming with Dworken & Bernstein gives us an over- view on the U.S. Supreme Court revisiting its 1974 holding on the American Pipe decision. Jim Timmerberg, also with Dworken, dis- cusses the application of Ohio’s statutes of limitation saving statutes, and Marc Dann rips into two consumer fraud cases involving two well-known nancial institutions. He readily admits their practices are good for his law rm’s business, but the general public is not be- ing treated fairly.
I continue to seek nominations for lawyers to interview who are outstanding in their chosen area of practice and other story ideas that would interest our audience of legal professionals. Kindly supply me with contact information for anyone you know who may want to participate in the content of our magazine and I will reach out to them personally.
